Mother nature is about to drop almost four feet of snow throughout the north-east region. With that in mind, the NBA has postponed both tonight’s Kings vs Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, and the Nets vs Trail Blazers game at Barclays Center according to Yahoo Sports Adrian Wojnarowski and Marc Berman of the New York Post.
No make up date has been set for either game. Both Portland and Sacramento likely would have to make another cross-country trip to play the games. With both New York and Sacramento well out of the playoffs, the question is really about how a loss for once side could impact lottery seeding if the game isn’t replayed.
The 8-37 Knicks have won three of their last four over the past week, nearly doubling their season win total, so if they aren’t trying to “tank,” this storm comes at a bad time for them as they are “rolling.”
The Nets on the other hand have lost eight out of 11 and are almost about to start a “fire sale.” That fire sale might have to wait a few days, as outgoing and new coming players might have a tough time traveling.
Around the north-east, Connecticut already has banned travel after 9 p.m. Monday night and numerous flights have been cancelled out of the regions airports. Other modes of transportation will be shut down as well, and there will be many more cancellations. The New York MTA is expected to have delayed service, if any at all.
