Well, well! The plot of Kevin Durant is certainly thickening. Or is it? I like a report just as much as the next guy but sometimes I see something like this and immediately I raise my eyebrows going “Oh really now?”. Then I let it marinate for a bit and then chalk it up as an educated guess.
So today’s educated guess comes from an NBA Agent talking to The Oklahoman about Kevin Durant, we know that he’s meeting many good teams and also teams that won’t even get a meeting. Two of the teams that are meeting him are the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat. Now this agent either knows something or he’s taking an educated guess, but he says that those two teams are the real players in the KD sweepstakes.
Another agent thinks, in the case of Durant, the club that wants to pry him away from the Thunder “needs to be a good team, in a better market with a better chance to win than OKC.”
“So Golden State and Miami become the only real players,” the agent said. “It’s too hard to justify a move to Los Angeles (Lakers) or New York because they are not close to winning. Houston’s out.”
Now the reason why I say educated guess is because there are way too many options for Kevin Durant for an anonymous agent to immediately cut it down to two. That’s just a little far fetched in my opinion.
But he’s kind of right. The Heat are always players with Pat Riley at the helm and Golden State are Golden State. But we can’t forget OKC or San Antonio.
