NBA Finals: San Antonio Takes Commanding 3-1 Series Lead With 107-86 Win in Game 4
The San Antonio Spurs handed the Miami Heat their first taste at defeat on their home floor in the playoffs for a second straight game in their 107-86 blowout win in Game 4. Kawhi Leonard led the Spurs with 20 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron James led Miami with 28 points.
Miami’s only lead in this game was at 2-0. The balance and fluidity of the Spurs offensive attack was carried over from Game 3, shooting 56% in the first quarter and 61% in the first half. Miami struggled to counter, but it was San Antonio’s engaged, concerted, and collective defensive efforts that forced Miami into difficult offense. The Heat only had 36 points (10/27 FG) at halftime with more turnovers (7) than assists (4). They finished the game with the same amount of assists and turnovers (13). Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh combined for 8-for-24 shooting from the field and just 22 points between them. The Spurs had every one score that was in the game, even in the garbage minutes.
The Spurs are now in control of the NBA Finals with a 3-1 series lead. They have a chance to close out Miami in Game 5 this Sunday at 8 PM EST on ABC.
