NBA Finals: Miami Ties Series With 98-96 Win In Game 2
The Miami Heat bounced back from difficult conditions and untimely cramps in Game 1 to take a 98-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2. LeBron James led Miami with 35 points (14 in the 3rd quarter) and 10 rebounds.
Miami withstood a 37-12 deficit in bench scoring, -10 in assists, and +2 in turnovers largely because of the greatness of LeBron James, on both ends of the floor. Erik Spoelstra elected to use the size of James and even Dwayne Wade to mix up the looks against Tony Parker. Miami made San Antonio less comfortable in their offense and made concerted efforts on close-outs and rotations, holding the Spurs to just 43% shooting from the field. LeBron James assisted Chris Bosh on a corner three-pointer with 1:18 remaining that would give Miami a 95-93 lead which followed with a costly turnover by Manu Ginobili.
Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points. Miami is now 13-0 in playoff games following a loss. Game 3 of the NBA Finals is on Tuesday at 9 PM EST on ABC in Miami.
