Kyrie Irving came back from injury after missing the last three contests, Mo Speights was on fire making his first 10 shots from the field, Luke Walton, who’s seen more playing time lately, had a career high 12 assists, but the Cavs couldn’t take advantage of their 22 point lead. New York lost all-star Carmelo Anthony because of a leg injury in the 2nd period. The Knicks were up three with 4 seconds left when Tyson Chandler blocked Irving’s three pointer attempt that would have tied it.
Milwaukee Bucks 109, Utah Jazz 108 (OT)
J.J Redick had 8 of the Bucks 10 points in overtime, including the three pointer that gave them the lead for good. Ellis’ jumper put them up by three and Randy Foye and Paul Millsap both attempted three’s but were no good. Brandon Jennings had his second straight double figures assists game with 17 and Ellis had 34 points.
Orlando Magic 105, New Orleans Hornets 102
New Orleans gave up 69 points in the 2nd half and Orlando came back from a 17 point deficit to beat the Hornets. Aaron Afflalo scored 26 for the Magic, and his basket with 38 seconds left gave Orlando the lead. Greivis Vasquez three pointer with about a second left didn’t go down.
Miami Heat 97, Minnesota Timberwolves 81
Dwyane Wade led Miami with 32 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds, Lebron James, who played despite having a scary fall against New York, had a double double with 20 points and 10 boards. Miami won their 15th straight win, their most in franchise history.
Denver Nuggets 104, Atlanta Hawks 88
Ty Lawson had 18 points and 8 assists, The Nuggets bench scored 50 points and Denver’s 10-2 run at the start of the 4th quarter pushed their lead to 17 and Hawks had no chance after that. Atlanta, who were on the last game on a long road trip, had nothing else left in the tank.
Portland TrailBlazers 122, Charlotte Bobcats 105
Portland made 12 shots from downtown, six players were in double figures scoring and they held lead for all 48 minutes. Lamarcus Aldridge had a double double with 23 points and 14 boards. Charlotte have lost seven games in a row.
Golden State Warriors 125, Toronto Raptors 118
Australian Andrew Bogut returned to the lineup after missing the last six games. Forward David Lee had 29 points, 12 boards & Stephen Curry added 26 points & 12 assists for Golden State, who snapped their four game skid. The Warriors were down seven at the end of three, but responded with 42 points in the final quarter for the win.
