Miami Heat 110, Oklahoma City Thunder 100
The Heat proved the Thunder still have a lot of work if they want to take the crown away from them.
Miami took care of business early, they were so dominant they never trailed in 48 minutes. With an 11-0 run in the first quarter, the 2012 defending champions led by 15 after the first quarter and never looked back.
Chris Bosh 20 points and 12 rebounds and Lebron James 39 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists were enough to survive Dwyane Wade’s off night.
Kevin Durant led Oklahoma City with 40 points despite a slow start, and Russell Westbrook added 26.
Los Angeles Clippers 125, Los Angeles Lakers 101
The L.A Clippers were on a mission since the very beginning of the game, starting with a 15-0 run behind Blake Griffin’s 10 points to held a 14 point lead after one.
The Lakers, behind their bench, had a push in the 2nd quarter to cut the 14 point lead down to three, unfortunately that didn’t last long. The Clippers came back with an impressive 14-5 run in the final two minutes of the quarter behind Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups’s hot shooting to end all the Lakers chances of a comeback. Billups made five three pointers for 21 points, Chris Paul had a double double of 24 points and 13 assists and Blake Griffin added 22.
“Lob City” defeated the Lakers for the third time this season, taking the season series with the Lakers for the first since the 1992-1993 season. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 20 points and 11 assists.
