David Blatt has received a lot of criticism during the Playoffs so far. First he tried calling time out and was bailed out by his assistant coach Tryon Lue, which would have probably cost them the game. He then draws up a play for LeBron to inbound the ball with 1.5 seconds left, which LeBron declined, and resulted to a game-winner. When he was asked about his late game decision making he compared himself to a fighter pilot. It hasn’t been a good week for Blatt.
Now the NBA says that there is no wrong doing in the game in terms of the time out, because none of the referees saw the signal.
According to the report of the last two minutes:
“Blatt (CLE) attempts to call a timeout when none remain. None of the three officials saw Coach Blatt signal for a timeout,” the report said.
Evidence shows other wise. It seems that one of the referees signaled to David Blatt that he does not have a time out, by shaking his head. Take a look at this video via BBallBreakdown:
Seems like Scott Foster is shaking his head. The game is over now, so you can be the judge. Game 5 is Tuesday in Cleveland.
