It was a Rookie class that had the shining stars, for some people there was at least four players that had a chance to win Rookie of the Year. Which is why when we officially got word of the NBA All-Rookie 1st and 2nd teams, there wasn’t much of a surprise as to who was named.
For the All-Rookie 1st team we have your 2015 Rookie of the Year Andrew Wiggins, Nerlens Noel (My Rookie of the Year) of the Philadelphia 76’ers, Elfrid Payton of the Orlando Magic, Nikola Mirotic of the Chicago Bulls and lastly the Los Angeles Lakers’ Jordan Clarkson. As I said they were pretty much locked in except for Clarkson but I think he deserves that last spot on the 1st team, he did very well for a Lakers team that gave up pretty much from the word “go”.
Your NBA 2nd team goes as follows. Bojan Bogdanovic for the Brooklyn Nets. The stretch 4 did well, filling in for Mirza Teletovic during the season. Zach LaVine, the other half of the “Bounce Brothers” who reignited our love for the Slam Dunk Contest. Rodney Hood for the Utah Jazz, beating out fellow Jazz Dante Exum. Marcus Smart who helped lead the Boston Celtics to the Playoffs. And finally Langston Galloway who was a bright spark to the New York Knicks’ very, very dark cloud.
Congratulations to all the Rookies that made the cut and commiseration to the ones who didn’t. Use this as inspiration to get better and hopefully beat on your now sophomore compatriots for years to come.
