2018 consensus five-star recruit, Naz Reid ended his recruitment and committed to Will Wade’s LSU Tigers. Reid, out of Roselle Catholic in New Jersey, is the second five-star prospect in the Tiger’s 2018 recruiting class, joining combo guard Ja’Vonte Smart out of Baton Rouge, LA. LSU’s class is now one of the top for 2018 and is in the mix for several other top recruits.
The following from Jeff Borzello of ESPN:
“I feel I will make a huge impact to the team, alongside the guys already there and alongside Javonte as well,” he said. “We can actually go places and I want to be a part of building a team for however long I’m going to be with the team. I’m just going to make the best of any situation that gets put in front of me or us.”
Reid is a long, physically mature power forward with a great outside touch. He nearly averaged a double double on the vaunted Under Armour Association Circuit with 14.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. Already on the NBA’s radar, Reid will make and early impact for LSU and will be a force in the SEC as a freshman.
Seven schools made Reid’s initial cut before deciding between blue blood Arizona and LSU.
