The Denver Broncos have announced that they have parted ways with first-year Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett. He coached just 15 games for the franchise before being fired less than one year into having the job. The Denver Broncos losing to the Los Angeles Rams 51-14 in Week Sixteen seemed to be the final straw for the team. Despite having high hopes this season the team has looked miserable. They have averaged just 15.5 points per game this season which ranks as the lowest in the NFL. Hackett was an offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers before this job and that did not translate to Denver.

In his one-season tenure with the Denver Broncos, Nathaniel Hackett led the team to an overall record of 4-11. While the defense was playing amazing all season the offense has looked dreadful all season. During the loss to the Los Angeles Rams, players were shoving each other and it became apparent that Hackett had lost the locker room. The season was marred with bad play, questionable decisions, and losing football. Denver will have to regroup after their final two games and find a new Head Coach.
The team will also have to decide what the next move is regarding quarterback Russell Wilson. After signing him to an extension, getting him off the roster will be difficult heading into next season or for several seasons after that. With Nathaniel Hackett gone, the team can focus on next season.
