Electrical engineer and television host, Grant Imahara, has passed away at the age of 49. News of the untimely death surfaced late Monday evening.
“We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,” Discovery Channel stated.
Imahara is best known of his role as host of the popular show, Mythbusters, on the Discovery Channel. From 2005 until 2014, Imahara hosted more than 200 episodes. He joined longtime host Jamie Hyneman when Scottie Chapman left the series. While there, he made robots and other electronics for the crew.
At this time, it is unclear what Imahara’s cause of death was.
