Louisiana rapper Mystikal was one of three people indicted for rape and kidnapping charges Tuesday.
A Caddo Parish grand jury issued the indictments of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping against Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, and Averweone Holman, known as Texas rapper Lil Hood. Their bail was raised from $2 million each to $3 million after the new charges.
A third person, Tenichia Wafford, is said by police to be connected. She is charged with obstruction of justice. Her bail was raised as well, from $200,000 to $500,000.
The three are linked to an October 22, 2016 incident at Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mystikal performed at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City the previous night for the “Legends of Southern Hip Hop” concert. According to The Shreveport Times, Wafford allegedly called the victim to get the criminal complaint dropped.
The judge has sealed court records pertaining to the case.
Mystikal and Wafford are scheduled for their next court appearance on September 26. Holman’s next court appearance will be September 25.
