With several free agents for the upcoming season, the Mystics were focused on bringing back Hines-Allen after the level of play that she has demonstrated this past two seasons.
“Re-signing Myisha was one of our major priorities this offseason. She has demonstrated the ability to be one of the high-level talents in the WNBA, as demonstrated by her breakout year in 2020,” General Manager and Head Coach Mike Thibault said on a press release. “She is a factor as a ball-handling, multi-positional player, who can score inside and out, as well as rebound the ball. She is still a young player with a lot of potentially great years ahead of her.
The 2020 season was Hines-Allen breakout season, she finished second in the voting for the Most Improved Player with career-highs of 17 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 30 minutes per game.
The Mystics also announced the signing of Elizabeth Williams to support Hines-Allen.
