Since we are a few weeks off NBA preseason I thought it would be time for me to really prove myself and give you my top 5 for both the East and West conference. Lets start with the West.
1) Oklahoma City Thunder
For this team the only way is up and I genuinely think they will get the top spot in the spot. Trip to the Finals? I’m not so sure but I know they’ll have the best record. What they significantly have over the others is team chemistry. They have pretty much the same team they had a year ago and I think that was the best thing to do. We know what they can do as a team, we now know that they need Russell Westbrook more than we thought. It’s a new slate and I think they have a chance to dominate.
2) Golden State Warriors
I love this team, if I didn’t support the Heat I without doubt would have supported this team. Their starting lineup gives me chills, Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Lee, Bogut. Are you kidding me?! This team is a threat on every inch of the court. Three point threat, post up, pick N’ roll, the whole 9 yards. And don’t forget Harrison Barnes on the bench who I think could get sixth man of the year if he gets the right minutes. Their only blurry patch is their health. If Curry, Lee and Bogut keep healthy… Man, conference finals for sure.
3) Los Angeles Clippers
This is a team who have made nothing but upgrades. Keeping CP3, acquiring Doc Rivers, strengthening their already beast bench with Antawn Jamison, Darren Collision and others. If DeAndre Jordan can actually hit free throws and if Blake Griffin keeps working on his post game, they’re all set.
4) Memphis Grizzlies
This bunch of bruisers have playoff team all over them, next to the Indiana Pacers they’re the most physical team in the NBA. With Tony Allen, Mike Conley Jr and obviously one of the best frontcourt’s in the game, Gasol and Randolph. And their bench is nothing to sneeze at either with Pondexter, Bayless and now Mike Miller I like this team a lot.
5) Houston Rockets
Now that the dust has settled on the D12 saga we can now look at how beast this team is. An amazing lineup with Harden, Lin, Parsons, Asik and of course Howard they are now ready to start a new era. Gone is the Ming-McGrady era. Say hello to the Harden-Howard era. This could be their year but there are a few teams who would have something to say about that.
So that’s my top 5. Eastern conference coming up.
