I’m making lamb tonight because ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’ is in the works!
Variety is reporting that Nia Vardalos and John Corbett will be back to reprise their roles in the sequel.
Gold Circle and HBO Films are helping develop the project. Vardalos is set to write and direct the movie as well.
The sequel will follow the Portokalos family as they prepare for another wedding. However, a huge secret is lurking in the shadows that may derail the whole thing.
“Now that I’m experiencing motherhood, I’m ready to write the next chapter of my family story,” said Vardalos. “Of course, a few jaded folks in the press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true.”
‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’ was a big fat success at the box office in 2002. The movie raked in $241 million domestically off of a $5 million budget.
