The MTV VMAs will be held in New Jersey this year. The annual awards show will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Reported by Deadline, “the announcement was made during Twitter’s 2019 NewFronts presentation at New York music venue Terminal 5.”
Bruce Gillmer, VMAs exec producer and global head of music and talent at Viacom and co-brand head for MTV International said in a statement,
“New Jersey has an incredible music heritage and is home to some of the world’s biggest artists including ‘Chairman of the Board’ Frank Sinatra, ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen, Queen Latifah, Bon Jovi, Whitney Houston, the Jonas Brothers, the Fugees and Halsey — the list is wide and endless. Now the moonperson plants its flag to celebrate all that New Jersey has given to music fans around the globe.”
The MTV VMAs is set to air 9 p.m. ET/PT on August 26 from the Prudential Center.
