The Scream spinoff has been picked up by MTV and will include a ten-episode first season.
The network confirmed that the series will premiere in October 2015.
The Scream TV series is based on Wes Craven’s 1996 postmodern slasher movie which starred Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox and Drew Barrymore.
The Scream franchise included movie sequels in 1997, 2000, and 2011.
The pilot of the tv series will begin with a YouTube video going viral, which soon starts a string of murders in a quiet town with a troubled past.
Bex Taylor-Klaus, Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna and Carlson Young have been cast in the project.
