Though the Philadelphia 76ers have big issues to address in their front office, they recently received a boost to their coaching staff in the form of a new hire. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, former head coach Monty Williams will join the Philadelphia 76ers as the lead assistant to Brett Brown:
Monty Williams has agreed to a deal to join Brett Brown's coaching staff with the Philadelphia 76ers as the pk-callout assistant, league sources told ESPN.

After the fiasco currently circulating around President Bryan Colangelo and his suspected burner accounts, it was thought that that type of controversy would drive away talent. Instead, Monty Williams has decided to bolster what was already a solid coaching unit in Philly.
Though it may be overlooked by some, the addition of Williams to a promising roster and a good head coach in Brett Brown could pay major dividends for this ascending Sixers team. Williams was the head coach in New Orleans for a five year span, earning a playoff berth twice during that tenure.
Williams last coached alongside Billy Donovan for the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015 but his season was cut short after his wife, unfortunately, died in a car accident. Williams has been out of coaching since then but his return to the NBA on the Sixers sideline has to be a welcome sight for everyone.
