The Migos look to hit the reset button for 2016. Now that trio are back at full strength, because Offset is home, they keep their word and hit the internet with a new mixtape — the sequel to their major label dud, YRN. In a lot of cases, recently, rappers have been putting out better mixtapes than albums. All the politics and deadlines drain the creative juices from most artists, which is why the album falls flat. The case could be made for their debut LP.
Thankfully, it hasn’t crushed their spirits as they’re gearing up for, hopefully, a great year. For YRN 2, we have 14 tracks, and not a single feature, and I’m a fan of that move. The production is crafted by Dun Deal, Zaytoven, OG Parker & Deko, 30 Roc, and others.
Lastly, don’t forget the upcoming The “Dab” tour starting on February 17th.
