While attending a showcase at SOBs during CMJ, a young emcee by the name of Kris Kasanova took the stage. His performance caught my attention to the point where I put my camera down and just watched. I never heard of this guy, and by the reaction and excitement of the crowd it seems like I was the only one sleeping under a rock.
After a week of work, fun, and Hip Hop, I finally had the chance to download his project War Paint. I had to make sure my judgment was not clouded by the live drummer and the amazing crowd participation he had going through out his performance.
And I must say it was no facade. Kris Kasanova‘s project is very much the truth.
