It appears Mitch McGary’s time with the Oklahoma City Thunder is coming to an end. Following the Thunder’s trade for Joffrey Lauvergne on Tuesday, McGary is expendable in OKC. According to ESPN’s Royce Young, he will likely be shown the door shortly:
Possible ripple-effect of the trade: There's a pretty good chance Mitch McGary isn't going to play another game with the Thunder.

The Thunder will likely be aggressive with trades and can now move frontcourt players (McGary, Ilyasova) for other position (SF) help.

Billy Donovan and Sam Presti have already talked glowing about Ilyasova and what he brings to the table. So it’s unlikely that the former Magic power forward is dealt.
McGary, on the other hand, has not made much of an impact with the Thunder thus far in his short career. He’s only played in 52 games over two seasons and was recently suspended for another violation of the league’s anti-drug policy.
Whether McGary can actually fetch a decent wing for the Thunder is another question. At his best, he can be a high energy big but he still leaves a lot to be desired.
Nevertheless, it appears Mitch McGary’s days in a Thunder jersey are numbered.
