Forward Mirza Teletovic had a superb year for the Phoenix Suns. Despite playing a minute per game less than he did last year in Brooklyn, he posted career-highs in points per game(12.2), field goal percentage(42.7%) and three-point percentage(39.3%).
Teletovic has found success in Phoenix, and is grateful for the opportunity. He will be a free agent this summer, and would love to stay with the Suns. From Craig Grialou of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM:
“I would love to be here,” he said. “I told them already, this is the team that give me what I got and they give me just a chance to come back and trusted in me. I would love to be back here.”
…
“Coach Earl (Watson) put a lot of trust in me. He kind of gave me the energy, gave me the boost. He talked to me through the whole period that he’s been here: how we’re supposed to play, how we’re supposed to get better,” he said.
“I understood the role that I have on this team.”
Teletovic made a total of 181 three-pointers this season, the most of any player to come off the bench in Suns history. After the success he’s enjoyed with the Suns, I’m sure Phoenix would love to re-sign Teletovic.
