Candidates seeking the Republican Party’s endorsement for president in the upcoming presidential election will meet for a debate in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this August. The exact date and criteria for candidates to participate have not yet been determined, but it will coincide with the RNC’s summer meeting in Milwaukee.
“At this time, no other debates have been sanctioned, nor has the final criteria for the first debate been decided,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote in a memo obtained by NBC News.
“The Committee will continue its work and will release updates as they become available.”
The midwestern city is also the site of the Republican National Convention. The political event is set to take place on July 15-18, 2024.
“We are thrilled to welcome the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee,” Mayor Cavalier Johnson said.
“Our city is ready to show the world that we are open to business, conventions and tourism. The presidential nominating convention is a historic opportunity to present the phenomenal place that Milwaukee really is.”
