Los Angeles Clippers point guard Milos Teodosic came to the NBA from Europe prior to last season, but his tenure with the Clippers may be coming to an end sooner rather than later. According to the Serbian guard in an interview with Glas Amerike, he may return to Europe before the conclusion of the season:
“I think I definitely won’t stay here because… I came, I saw how it looks and somehow… I enjoy more and it’s nicer for me to play in Europe. So, I will return to Europe for sure, will it be during this season or at the end, we’ll see.”
Teodosic was one of the Clippers’ lead guards last season with Patrick Beverley on the shelf for the majority of the campaign, and took advantage of it, putting up 9.5 points and 4.6 assists and over 25 minutes per game as a rookie. This season, with Beverley back and rookie Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looking like a steal in the late lottery, Teodosic has struggled with injuries and earning playing time in his second go-round with the team.
Teodosic was one of the highest-touted players in Europe prior to coming to the United States, and would undoubtedly fetch a lucrative deal with a Euroleague team. His former team, CSKA Moscow, offered him a three-year, $12 million extension to stay with the team, but the 31-year-old decided to make the move to the NBA with the Clippers, who signed him for two years. Whether he’ll rejoin a Euroleague in the midst of this season or wait until the conclusion of the campaign remains to be seen; regardless, Teodosic will be back in Europe soon.
