Mike Zimmer has instilled a winning mentality in the Minnesota Vikings throughout his tenure as head coach and is set to be rewarded accordingly. As reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Vikings are nearing a multi-year contract extension to keep Zimmer in Minnesota.

The Vikings posted a record of 10-6 last season, upsetting the New Orleans Saints in the Wildcard round of the Playoffs prior to falling to the eventual NFC Champions, the San Francisco 49ers, in the Divisional round.
Zimmer, who holds a record of 57-38 since taking the lead role in Minnesota in 2014, has had several of his key players secure contract extensions this offseason, including quarterback Kirk Cousins as well as Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen among those staying with the Vikings.
One piece of uncertainty for Zimmer and the Vikings for the near future is that of running back Dalvin Cook, who is reported to be holding out for a new contract after being named to the Pro Bowl last season.
