Mississippi State Bulldogs Head Coach Mike Leach has been taken to the hospital and is reportedly in critical condition. He was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson after he suffered what was called a “personal health issue”. Following the news of him being hospitalized the University, fans, colleagues, and media personnel offered their well wishes and thoughts to both him and his family. At this time the University has not commented beyond confirmation and this quote: “thoughts and prayers of the university are with Mike and [wife] Sharon and their family.”

There is no word on if that is connected to his current hospitalization. With Leach currently unavailable the university defensive coordinator Zach Arnett in charge of the football program. Mississippi State is set to play in the ReliaQuest Bowl on January 2nd against the Illinois Fighting Illini. We here at Def Pen Sports offer out thoughts to Leach and his family at this time.
