
Mississippi State Bulldogs Head Coach Mike Leach has passed away at the age of 61 years old. He was at the hospital in Jackson, Mississippi with his family. He passed away due to what the university called a heart complication. When news broke that he was rushed to the hospital it was also reported that he was in critical condition and his family with him. Love and support immediately poured out from the football world after the announcement of the passing of the Bulldogs’ Head Coach.

The family of Mike Leach released the following statement following his passing: “Mike was a giving and attentive husband, father, and grandfather. He was able to participate in organ donation at UMMC as a final act of charity. We are supported and uplifted by the outpouring of love and prayers from family, friends, Mississippi State University, the hospital staff, and football fans around the world. Thank you for sharing in the joy of our beloved husband and father’s life.”

In his career, Mike Leach served as the Head Coach for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Washington State Cougars, and Mississippi State Bulldogs.
