Mike Epps has been cast as Richard Pryor in the upcoming biopic about the comedians life.
The news comes after a tweet from director Lee Daniels and an Instagram post from Oprah Winfrey confirming the decision.

Indiewire is reporting that Nick Cannon, Michael B. Jordan and Marlon Wayans were also rumored to star as the late comedian and Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson are in talks to play his wife Jennifer Lee Pryor.
The movie also comes with its own set of drama. Richard Pryor Jr. has threatened to take legal action in order to block production on the film. He has accused Jennifer Lee Pryor Jennifer Lee of illegally obtaining the rights to her husband’s story and has already sent a cease and desist to block production.
The untitled biopic has yet to get a release date.
