The Memphis Grizzlies have their backs against the wall after losing the first two games of their first-round series against the San Antonio Spurs. It’s been a tough start to the postseason for the Grizz who have taken to epic rants in press conferences while trying to figure out a way to come back in the series.
Despite the emotion of the series taking its toll, one Grizzlies player is still finding some time to give back to the community. On Wednesday, the team gave away 500 tickets to game three of the series at the FedEx Forum to their fans. Those tickets were purchased by point guard Mike Conley.
Following statement was released by the team prior to giving out the tickets:
Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley has purchased 500 tickets to Game 3 vs. San Antonio on Thursday, April 20 at FedExForum as a way to thank Grizz Nation for their tremendous support throughout the 2016-17 season that saw the franchise’s seventh straight postseason appearance. The tickets will be given away by Conley immediately after practice, starting at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19 in the Grand Lobby at FedExForum on a first-come, first-served basis (limit two tickets per person). The 2017 Grizzlies Playoffs are presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners.
This is a tremendous gesture by Conley who has made a name by being one of the more classy players in the league.
