Eight days removed from facial surgery, Mike Conley put on one of the better post season performances in recent memory leading the Memphis Grizzlies on the road in a 97-90 win against the Golden State Warriors in Game Two of the Western Conference Semi-finals.
Conley finished 8/12 from the field with 22 points, including a dagger three pointer with 2:13 left to put Memphis up by 10. Zach Randolph had 20 points to go along with seven rebounds.
Golden State lost for just the third time on their home floor this season and the first time since January. The Warriors struggled from the field all night, especially MVP Steph Curry and his fellow Splash Brother Klay Thompson. The duo combined to go 3/17 from beyond the arc and both players air balled multiple three-point shot attempts.
The loss is Golden State’s first loss on the season when their opponent has scored under 100 points. They were 44-0 when holding the opposing team to under 100 points coming into the game.
Things will shift to Memphis with the series all tied up at 1-1. Game Three is this Saturday with tipoff at 8pm.
