Sometimes there are occasions where basketball, scratch that, any job, has to be pushed to the side. In this case, we don’t know the reason for Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer not participating in the Hawks’ game tonight against the Boston Celtics and we should all respect that request of not prying.
Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer will miss Friday night’s game in Boston because of a family emergency.
The team announced that Budenholzer returned to Atlanta early Friday after initially traveling with the team. The Hawks gave no additional details and asked fans and media to “respect the private nature of the situation.”
Top assistant Kenny Atkinson will coach the Hawks (8-2) against the Celtics.
For now we will just respect the Budenholzer family, hope it’s not worst case scenario and watch the Hawks as they play without their head coach.
The Hawks are currently 8-2, which is very good considering most people thought they would drop off due to DeMarre Carroll leaving for Toronto. They’re playing as if it was last season and it’s good to see. Maybe it won’t be such an easy road for the Cleveland Cavaliers like most people think.
Again all the best to coach Budenholzer.
