Mike Brown has been coaching in the NBA since 1997, when he started as an assistant with the Washington Wizards. He remained there until 1999. Then, he worked as an assistant with the San Antonio Spurs. Then the Indiana Pacers. Then, in 2005, he got his first head coaching gig with the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, which he retained until 2010. He won Coach of the Year with the Cavs in 2009. Since then, he’s had brief head coaching stints with the Los Angeles Lakers and then again the Cavaliers. Neither of those jobs lasted more than a season, though.
Ty Corbin has a shorter coaching career than Brown, but played in the NBA for 16 years, including, as Stein mentioned, one season together with Warriors head coach Steve Kerr in Phoenix.
