On Friday, October 24, 2025, Miguel returned to deliver his first full-length studio album in eight years. Serving as the follow-up to 2017’s War & Leisure, Miguel’s CAOS is a weighty body of work that is as complex musically as it is lyrically, and for good reason. Not only has so much unfolded in Miguel’s personal life over the last eight years, but also the world in which he’s creating music has changed dramatically. From therapeutic introspection to social commentary, Miguel’s latest full body of work may be his most personal yet, making for a memorable listen on a jam-packed new music Friday.
“The sound of the album was very much inspired by that nonlinear kind of aggressive tone that I think, at least personally, I’ve had to take with myself and really get to the bottom of things,” Miguel told USA Today’s Anika Reed. “It’s not an easy or happy or romantic process. I think it takes a lot of consideration. The album is the most aggressive body of work that I put together, but not without tenderness and not without real introspection. And I think that balance is what I was looking for.”
Miguel celebrated the release of his new album with a live performance at Zipper Concert Hall in his hometown of Los Angeles, California. With the expectation that more shows will follow in 2026, now may be a good time to lock in with CAOS and being learning the lyrics before he stops in a city near you.
