Chicago’s own, Mick Jenkins, has made a name for himself over the last decade thanks to his consistent output and lyrical ability. With that being said, the Chicago emcee has remained fairly quiet over the last few months. In 2016, the Chicago native put out his most commercially successful project to date, The Healing Component. Since then, the Midwest rapper has remained active with the first two projects of his Or More series. Most recently, the Cinematic Music Group artist released his project, Or More; The Frustration, back in February. Later this year, The Healing Component rapper plans to return with the release of his second studio album.
As Jenkins prepares for the release of his sophomore album, he has released a new track called “Elephant In The Room”. Produced by Them People and Martin Sky, the track offers a smooth, jazzy vibe. On the record, Jenkins raps, “The elephant remembers it all down to irrelevant. This the regimen. It’s journey that slightly resembles The Revenant. This is the valley of the shadow of death.” Throughout the track, Jenkins sits in his usual pocket offering doses of wisdom. Fans can find the entire track above and keep up with Def Pen for more new music from the Chicago emcee.
