President Obama and two-time reigning MVP Stephen Curry have become frequent golf buddies. Curry admitted after their first time golfing together that President Obama is a decent trash talker.
Appearing on Ellen along with First Lady Michelle Obama, Curry shared more about the President’s trash-talking tendencies:
During his speeches, he has that slow cadence that kind of draws you in. He brings that same kind of vibe to his trash talk. So, I’ll hit a shot. It’ll bounce. And he’ll look like, “Yeah, that’s not a good shot. I’m going to need you to do better next time.” So, it gets in under your skin, too, because, “I know. I hit out of bounds.”
First Lady Obama gave Curry some trash-talking advice to counter her husband:
You should trash-talk back, Steph.
Talk about his ears.
As you’re putting, you want to say, “The shadow from your ears is really messing up my putt.”
That’s solid material up for grabs for Curry. His courage as a shooter on the court is unparalleled, but using that on the President of the United States would take that courage to new heights. We’ll see if any new stories manifest from Curry and Obama’s future golf outings.
