The Denver Nuggets will retain head coach Michael Malone for the 2018-19 NBA season, Nuggets President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly confirmed to Denver media:
Nuggets president of basketball ops Tim Connelly just confirmed that Michael Malone will be back next season. As far as an extension for Nikola Jokic goes, Connelly says they want to get that new deal done sooner rather than later.

There was some uncertainty about Malone’s future given that the Nuggets barely missed out on the postseason despite their young and talented roster.
Prior to his head-coaching gig in Denver, Malone spent time with the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans) and Golden State Warriors in assistant roles. He was also head coach of the Sacramento Kings from 2013-2014.
Malone was hired by the Nuggets in June 2015 after being fired by the Kings. He has since coached the Nuggets to a record of 86-78.
