We may have laughed at Michael Kidd-Gilchrist for having one of the ugliest jumpshots. But while we were rolling on the floor in pain he was actually being the Hornets defensive anchor.
But now, the Hornets will have to play most of the season without MKG as his dislocated shoulder will now require surgery according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
Kidd-Gilchrist is expected to miss six months with the injury, which wouldn’t allow for a possible return until the final weeks of the season in April. It leaves little hope that Kidd-Gilchrist can return to the lineup this season.
Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a separated right shoulder in Saturday’s preseason victory over Orlando, and an MRI on Monday in Charlotte revealed the need for surgery.
I’m being serious here. Without MKG, they probably might not make the Playoffs. The Eastern Conference is slowly getting better and there are several teams that believe that they can make a run. They can easily be replaced and I think that’s what will happen. They’ll most likely go back to the 9-10 spot and have a soul crushing finish to the season, similar to the Phoenix Suns.
