Former Dallas Cowboy hall of fame receiver Michael Irvin plans on trying to lure free agent center DeAndre Jordan to Dallas.
Irvin was on 103.3 FM’s “The Afternoon Show with Cowlishaw & Mosley” in Dallas on Monday and said that he’s been in touch with Jordan the past few weeks.
“DeAndre Jordan, he sent me his number a few weeks ago,” Irvin said. “He’s a big Cowboys fan, a big Mike Irvin fan. I was going to reach out to him and get some tickets to the Finals. I just knew they were going to be there, Michael Irvin sitting right here, DeAndre Jordan’s guest right now, ‘Hey! What’s up?'”
The Clippers won’t be playing in the Finals after dropping Game Seven to the Rockets in the Western Conference Semi-Finals. Irvin will now turn into a recruiter and try to help convince Jordan to sign with the Mavericks.
“I feel I have a duty to make sure I let him know exactly how beautiful it is to land right here and call Dallas home,” Irvin said. “That would be, no doubt, the truth for me. There’s no place better, and I will certainly let him know that.”
The timing couldn’t be more perfect, with reports now that Jordan may leave Los Angeles because of a “rift with Chris Paul.
If I was a Clippers fan and I see Michael Irvin is trying to recruit Jordan to Dallas, knowing Jordan is a big Cowboys fan, I’d be very worried.
