Michael Carter-Williams is looking to make one more strong run in the NBA before he has to start fighting for his minutes on an NBA team. The former Rookie of the Year was viewed as a potentially great talent coming out of Syracuse University but has heavily regressed since his breakout rookie campaign. He’s been traded twice already during his rookie contract and his new team, the Chicago Bulls, didn’t pick up his fourth-year option.
MCW has a lot more to worry about right now, though. He’s currently dealing with a pair of injuries suffered in the Bulls win over the Brooklyn Nets. Williams injured both his knee and wrist and he is expected to miss about a month.
The Bulls made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier this morning, Michael Carter-Williams underwent an MRI on his left knee and left wrist. The results of the MRI showed that he sustained a bone bruise with no ligament damage to his knee, as well as a left wrist sprain. His recovery time is estimated to be between four and six weeks.
Michael Carter-Williams has appeared in three games with Chicago and averaged 4.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 0.67 steals in 15.0 minutes. Expect Isaiah Canaan to get a heavy dose of MCW’s minutes.
