Oh you people are in for a treat. What you are about to read is a Heat fan wondering how in the hell the Miami Heat traded away a player that showed a little bit of promise but only had a season to show it, and for some reason, Mario Chalmers is STILL on the Miami Heat roster after getting paid to spend years wondering what his role is. He’s definitely not pass first and if he’s a shooting guard disguised as a point guard, he’s doing a SHODDY job of it!
I’m not done but let’s look at the news, Shabazz Napier will play his sophomore season in Florida, but not South Beach. Shabazz is off to the Orlando Magic in exchange for a 2nd Round Pick.
The Orlando Magic will acquire Miami Heat guard Shabazz Napier for a protected future second-round pick, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Napier, 24, was the 24th overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets and was traded to Miami in a draft-day deal. He averaged 5.1 points, 2.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 51 games for the Heat last season.
Now by those statistics you say ‘I’m fine with him being traded’. But for crying out loud I prefer a player that has the chance to grow than a veteran who has only had two notable games since he left Kansas! I don’t see Chalmers going from himself to John Wall anytime soon.
I rate Orlando highly. They’re a young team with a great starting 5. And I swear if Chalmers is still Chalmers and Shabazz grows, whoowee I’m going to blow a gasket.
