Miami are set to receive their championship rings on opening night in front of the team they vanquished from the playoffs last season. The ring ceremony will take place prior to the beginning of the October 30th encounter against the Boston Celtics and will have a little added spice because of the defection from Boston to Miami of three-point specialist, Ray Allen.
The last time these two teams met was in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals last season with Miami proving too much for the older Celtics. A preliminary schedule has been issued to teams and some changes could be allowed for.
Other key games of note include : the Heat facing the Thunder on Christmas Day, in a rematch of the 2012 NBA Finals. Heat/Knicks (Miami defeated New york 4-1 in the first-round of the playoffs) on Friday, November 2, Heat/Lakers on Thursday, January 17, and Lakers/Heat on Sunday, February 10.
The full NBA schedule will be released shortly.
