Free agent Jarnell Stokes has signed a contract with the Miami Heat, the 24-year-old confirmed to Def Pen Hoops in a text message.
Stokes played for the Heat during the 2015-16 season, appearing in five games while spending most of his tenure with the team’s G League affiliate.
Stokes was named Most Valuable Player of the D-League in 2016 when he led the Sioux Falls Skyforce to a championship, earning him a shot with the Denver Nuggets shortly afterward.
Stokes most recently played in China with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. He held per-game averages of 25 points and 13.9 rebounds, developing a more reliable jumper and offensive repertoire since he last played in Miami.
