This deal would be a little confusing to understand. For the Heat, why make the deal? Unless you’re looking to put an established big man in the middle and move Chris Bosh out to his original position of power forward, then it makes sense.
The Miami Heat don’t have too many assets and could easily give up a guy like Luol Deng and maybe the young Hassan Whiteside in the deal. That wouldn’t be good though if you’re the Miami Heat.
Where it doesn’t make sense is the surprise 2015 Hassan Whiteside is having. Whether Whiteside is going to continue his roll of great plays and even better play for the Heat is yet to be determined, but why make this move and hinder his development? His last 5 games have been huge for the Heat.
