With just 7 games left of the season, and the Miami Heat battling for a playoff spot, the team needs all of their players to be performing at their highest possible levels.
Things have not been going well for the Heat lately though. They’ve lost 3 of their last 4 games, and have dealt with season-ending injuries to Chris Bosh and Shabazz Napier.
The Heat hoped to increase their championship odds with the midseason acquisition of point guard Goran Dragic.
However, Dragic has not played at the level that he did during his All-NBA Third Team campaign last season. Per Jason Lieser of the Palm Beach Post:
“Dragic has been feeling ‘Slow’ for a month now, though he was not visibly off until recently. This is not even about the numbers he has been putting up, which are not good, but how he looks and feels.
‘It’s like I cannot develop my speed and get going,’ he said.”
This is really not a good sign for Miami, because they don’t have time to waste. With only 7 games left, and the Heat just a half a game ahead of Boston for the eighth seed in the East, they had better hope that Dragic can find his groove sooner rather than later.
