Veteran NBA forward Metta World Peace is dealing with some off-the-court issues lately.
No, none of those issues are his fault, at least at the moment.
World Peace, formerly known as Ron Artest, claims a woman by the name of Miesha Shakes has been terrorizing his life over the last year.
TMZ Sports has the details:
TMZ Sports has learned … Peace went to the LAPD and told cops a “stranger”, named Miesha Shakes, had been harassing him in a series of emails dating back to 2015.
Peace says the emails contained violent threats — including one that read, “I apologize in advance, I’m going out with a bang. This will be the worst thing to ever happen in Westwood. Call cops I’m ready.”
She also threatened to attack his car, accused him of raping women and threatened him with a knife … Peace alleged in court documents.
Peace claims she made good on some of her threats — throwing a brick through a window in his building and slashing his tires.
Metta World Peace, known for his involvement in several violent incidents on the court — some of which instigated by him — is on the receiving end this time. He’s asked the judge to keep this woman “1 million yards” away from him, requesting several places, “Earth” being included, that she cannot go to.
The judge accepted his requests, with the exception of planet earth and 1 million yards. According to TMZ, the woman is required to stay 100 yards away from each place he requested.

World Peace was signed to a camp deal by the Lakers earlier last month, who thought highly of his veteran presence on its young roster last season.
The Lakers’ season opener is on October 26th against the Rockets at Staples Center.
