The New York Mets hit on a few buzzer-beater trades right as the trade deadline passed. They brought in catcher Robinson Chirinos, infielder Todd Frazier, and relief pitcher Miguel Castro from the Texas Rangers and Baltimore Orioles.

While these three trades are all menial and may seem that they do not do much for the organization, it adds depth for General Manager (GM) Brodie Van Wagenen. The Mets are looking to add some depth; it seems as they look to make a postseason run.
For a second go-round, the Mets will now have Frazier back in their organization once again. These three trades were all announced immediately before or just after the trade deadline has passed.
The Orioles will receive left-handed pitcher Kevan Smith in the trade for Miguel Castro. The Mets trade comes right as the organization is looking to mount a sale of the organization with Steve Cohen.
These trades will put a burden onto Cohen, who will have to buyout Frazier and Chirinos, who each have team options with buyouts for the following season. It appears that this was the last of the trade deadline trades that all started to squeak across after the official deadline had passed.
