The New York Knicks’ season is pretty much a lost cause under first year coach Derek Fisher. They’re 5-29 and have lost an absurd 19 out of their last 20 games.
Despite all of that, star forward Caremlo Anthony still believes in his head coach.
“I think he’s doing a great job of keeping everybody focused on the task at hand and believing in what we’re trying to do,” Anthony said.
Of course the Knicks have been dealing with many injuries to their key guys, including Anthony who has been dealing with a sore left knee for most of the season. He has openly speculated he might eventually have to shut it down for an extended period if the pain gets any worse.
“It’s tough. Some days you’re able to do some things, some days you’re not,” Anthony said. “Some days it’s tough to even run around and cut and jump. And then other days I come in and I don’t really feel it.
Along with Anthony, the injury bug has bitten JR Smith, Amare Stoudemire, Andrea Bargnani, Iman Shumpert, and Jose Calderon.
“I think if it was anybody else in his position, I think this probably would’ve crumbled already,” Anthony said about Fisher.
Right, because 5-29 and losing 19 out of 20 isn’t “crumbling.”
