It’s been tough few weeks publicly for Steve Harvey. Recently, he’s taken a bit of heat on social media for older comments he made about the correlation of sleep and success. Afterwards, we learned that his talk show, Steve, would be cancelled. Now, we are learning that NBC will also be cutting ties with Harvey on another show of theirs.
NBC has announced that Melissa McCarthy will replace Steve Harvey as the show of Little Big Shots. Harvey helped to create the show alongside Ellen DeGeneres. McCarthy is best known for her roles in The Hangover Part III, Gilmore Girls, The Heat, Spy and many more films and television series.
NBC Entertainment Co-Chair Paul Telegdy said, “I think it’s a real refresh for a brand that’s done very well for us.” He added, “Melissa’s just an incredible performer and an incredible comedian, someone who we feel is part of the NBC family. I think she’ll just bring an incredibly fresh perspective to it.”
During a recent taping of his talk show, Steve Harvey addressed the cancellations of his two shows. He noted, “Seven years coming to a close. This is good though, man. You gotta understand how it works. Your life ain’t nothing but a book.”
The final episodes of his talk show are expected to air sometime next month.
