Her debut project phAses released and immediately Melii received congrats and warm welcomes from Tory Lanez.
Melii recently wrapped up a stint on Meek Mill’s Motivation tour and with a feature on the Championships album. Upon the release of phAses Tory Lanez uploaded a congratulatory message to the Harlem songstress, welcoming her talent to his record label, One Umbrella.

Meek Mill allegedly commented, claiming the move was corny on both parties. The comments, if they ever existed, now deleted remain in screenshots shared on social media by Hip Hop fan pages.

As the controversy grows, Melii spoke out about her reasoning for signing with Tory Lanez. The artist who typically speaks out on social media regarding her career moves details how One Umbrella just felt right.
Using Instagram’s story feature, Melii says she has no hard feelings towards Meek Mill. She writes, “I’m not the crazy bit*h or the ungrateful person u want to make urself believe I am. My decision with going with Umbrella was based of an offer that was already there from years ago n wanting to better my craft n where I felt I belonged” after hearing of Meek Mill’s alleged comments.
Adding another layer of drama, another screenshot surfaced, this time a comment from Melii. The screenshot alleges Meek Mill pressed Melli for sex and when told no, attitudes changed.
@Melii reveals that she didn’t sign with Meek Milk because he allegedly asked to have sex with her. Also he claimed she was “Boujie” and “too vocal” when speaking up for her career. He compared her behavior to Nicki Minaj #meekmill #melii #torylanez #nickiminaj pic.twitter.com/vrGeQ2F9vD

While neither party has yet to confirm nor deny the comments, it seems as though Melli’s only goal remains to make music.
