Megan Thee Stallion has filed to trademark her popular catchphrase, ‘Hot Girl Summer.’
‘Hot Girl Summer” is a term the rapper often uses and has become a phenomenon. On Twitter, Megan defined being a hot girl as, “being unapologetically YOU, having fun, being confident, living YOUR truth, being the life of the party etc.”
According to Billboard, the trademark was filed on July 10. This is reportedly the same day “the Houston native publicly responded to one of her fans saying she was actively “in the process” of making it happen.”
Several brands including Wendy’s, Forever 21, and Maybelline have used the ‘Hot Girl Summer’ phrase to market. The trademark will cover merchandise for products such as t-shirts, hoodies, and sportswear.
Megan has also hinted that a ‘Hot Girl Summer’ record is coming soon.
